I chose early literacy because literacy is very important to everyday life and a child's learning level. Children need to be introduced to books and print at a early age so they can see that it can be fun and help them understand how to read and a successful educational experience.I enjy reading to my children and students and I want to promote literacy so they will carry the love for literacy throughout their lives.

We made it Thanks to all!!
I learned a lot about early literacy and how to go about advocating for it. I know I will think more about why I am reading a book to a child or the materials I provide for them to learn with. I also learned alot about myself and how very much I want to lead my own classroom. I think it is one of the most rewarding jobs one can have. I have enjoyed this class even though the research paper was very challenging for me. I learned that I can push myself to do what is needed even if I don't quite understand it. I learned that anything is possible with modivation and the need to suceed. I have 3 classes left and am looking forward to graduating in the near future. I want to congratulate all of my classmates and wish you the best in your teaching careers. It was great working with you.

Thank you for providing information regarding literacy. This subject is so important and the information need to filtered to professional educators as well as the families of children so that all will know an understand the benefits of early literacy. Many people are under the misconception that that literacy begins in elementary school however research shows that it actually begins at birth. Thanks for advocating for early literacy.
ReplyDeleteI too am on the road to graduation and I could not help but feel a sigh of relief of getting that challenging research paper finished. I have 2 classes left and am so thankful for that. I really think that this internship taught me a lot about so many different topics including literacy from reading all of the discussions and blog posts. Thanks again for providing so much information about a topic that is critical in early childhood education. Good luck in your future.
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy
ReplyDeleteAs a professional of infant/toddler I would like to make a difference in the lives of children and their families by given them respect and time. We need to respect their religion, culture, traditions and beliefs. I believe that good communication between teachers and parents is the best way to establish a good relationship.
